MST3K: satellite of Love, Update: 17/10-10 Now with Logo planet

Re: Wip MST3K: satellite of Love

Nothing yet. The weather have been bad and my job have been stealing most of my time.

Do you want photos of the actual props? I took some photos on a tour of the Studio back around 1994 or 95. The are on good old fasion film so I'd have to scan them for you first. Let me know and I'll dig them out.
If I recall correctly there were two on display at the studio. One was massive approx 8 feet or so the other was smaller 2-3 feet long.
The large one had all kinds of weird things glued to it like plastic toys of all kinds, soldiers, animals, cereal box toys and on and on. Let me know.

Me! I'd like to see actual props photos! :D

While we wait, let me show you my invention exchange. It's a waffle hat, kind of like those beer hats you see at football games. Only it drizzles fresh maple syrup.

Whaddaya think, sirs? :D

Of course in episode 420 "Human Duplicators", Crow builds an exact model of the Satellite of Love out of string, toothpicks, eggshells and baking powder paste. :sleep

Re: Wip MST3K: satellite of Love

Been over a year since i started making it, but fate and my ability to jump on and start more & more projects has stalled it until now.

Finally finished it, now i can begin to finish my other project that i started :lol
I took and glued on some of the cast parts and parts that i found in my scrap box. Lots of boats on the ship..
Did a little hidden game reference on it as well.
The color is gray primer that i misted with black paint then misted again with the primer. This way it looks better that just a flat gray color.
I might sometime in the future do some weathering on it, but for now i'm finished.
It might not be 100 % accurate but i still love my Satellite of love. :love
Enjoy

Re: MST3K: satellite of Love

Now i finished another project : The spaghetti logo planet that is used in the intro of MST3K
I used a hollow wooden ball that i covered with a glue gun to simulate the "spaghetti" texture. The letters was printed on thick paper and then covered on the back with glue and cut out..

Paint is 2 sets of misted gray and misted black spraypaint, then painted on matt white for the letters.
