MR TNG Tricorder and assault Phaser from FP U.K.

Creepy pictures. Knowing MR's history, these may not be pics of the production pieces. Still, could mean they're that much closer, which is cool.

If the tricorder is done right, you KNOW I'll be in for one or two.

I hope those prices aren't right. $480 for the Assault Phaser and $415 for the TNG tricorder? I was thinking they would be $299, $399 tops for the phaser.

For the TNG Tricorder, wouldn't the piece be more accurate if you got the one from Rod.com? I was under the impression that HMS did the originals and that the current tricorders are from the same tooling. I could be wrong.

Edit: My bad, it looks like they only have the kits.

The phaser picture looks more like a rendering. You know if MR is going to allow pre-orders the least they could do is pony up some photos. By this point tooling & production contracts have to have been made, they've got to be working off something?

I would not send in a dime on these until I at least saw a photo of an actual prototype and/or finished product. The phaser is a rendering. Delivery by the end of April? DREAM ON!

End of april, the MR website says WINTER 2008? I'm in for both, been waiting along time, I know alot of people dont trust MR around here, but when they do put products out, they are pretty top knotch in my book, kinda pricy though.

I love my TOS tricorder. It's the last thing I kept.

Not too much interested in the Mark X though.

If they had done a Mark VI and a dustbuster, I would have gone for them. I'm more of a early TNG fan and would have preferred those props.

I'm going to get the Phaser...but I think I'll wait for a good deal from one of our own dealers...

That is my major prop purchase this year...

Tiny photos, but I wouldn't assume the phaser was a rendering.
Lots of people assumed that for some of the later SW offerings like the Rebel Blaster - turned out it was just the photo process they used to bring out detail in dark/black objects.

IIRC it involved shooting two separate photos for different lighting passes and combining the two in Photoshop. The pics end up looking a little fake/ too perfect and detailed. That very well be what we're seeing in the Phaser pic.

Well then, just to nit, that's not a rendering. It's a rasterization of vector art, making it a RIP :)

It looks a whole lot like one of the drawings that was made for the Star Trek magazine that was out a while back. heck, I might even have the issue.

Same old MR :)

Man, calling that a "TNG Tricorder" is hella misleading, since it never saw use in TNG, or even the first TNG movie.

There I was, hoping for a decent MkVII. Knew it was too good to be true.
