Seriously? i knew of the TIE X1, but would MR really profit from the T65 what with Mikes new kit, and the glut already out there of CC kits. That said, id love to see what MR come up with. :)

99% of the SW fans have no clue Mikes or even the CC X-wing kit's even exisits. Only the very few people that view these different boards and the select few that make it to eBay no about them or have them.

MR will do fine with the X-wing.

I didnt say it wouldnt, but are other fans that dont frequent boards like this so avid to spend MR money? Maybe they are, the falcon would have any fan sold so theres no reason why the X wing would not if it really is the shiznit lol, just an observation Lynn, i cant wait to see it, along with the TIE.

You also have the Star Wars, who do know about these boards, but don't have any modeling skills and would rather buy a finished display piece than a kit (poor sods don't know what they're missing, there's nothing like the satisfaction of building it yourself).

MR's studio scale product is WAY out of my price range, but I'm going to be very interested in seeing what they come up with. The Millenium Falcon is awe inspiring, but I wasn't impressed with the paint job on the Y-wing. The X-Wing is deserving of the same attention to detail that the Falcon received.

Copy.....red two. I hear you on the non modellers, i guess not having the skills but appreciating the time and tears spent on coming up with these prop replicas is what MR are all about attracting in some ways. The paint job on the Y was lacklustre (dare i say rushed and non researched, ducks for cover :p ), but yes i think the T65 should get the bells and whistles thrown at it.

Quick note...

Mike Salzo is discontinuing his HERO X-Wing kit since MR is going to make and sell them.

Please don't PM me regarding this as it is what it is and I will not respond. This was just a quick 'heads-up' for all those wishing to have an accurate X. MR is your best bet now.

Hm, if Mike sold his X to MR its not going to be the "definitive X" but very close.
Also i hope MR is not trying to buy now all those SS Fanmade stuff for their products.
I love building these as kits and was a little dissapointed that they bought Steve's Y-Wing and took a nice kit out of the market...

By the way i think its not a good idea to sell 3 SS models in just one year (Falcon, Vader TIE and X-Wing) Even in an "anniversary year"...

:cry That SUX. 1. It's highly unlikely that I'll be able to afford the MR 2. I want a kit to build myself and not a finished product. This is really craptastic news :thumbsdown

P.S. This should in no way be taken as "Shooting the messanger". Thanks for the heads up Kuhn Global

I doubt that too.

I'm sure the X-Wing will be made with the same care and attention lavished on the Falcon.

How about opening wings and a lit cockpit and engines?

Now there's a thought.

Sounds fantastic Barry, and what with the Corgi thing, if prices and availability in the UK are more pleasing (no crazy shipping, handling and UK customs charges) i could be tempted even further. Then again it would depend on price, $250 for a hero (now gone :cry ) weighed against maybe $800? for an MR, it would be a big decision for me anyway. Im sure MR will blow us away once more :) .
I cant see MR buying up all the fanmade stuff either, quality and due times would suffer dramatically IMO, and its what fits MR's niche at the time. Dont foget, this is for the 30th and i guess they want to offer some very classic lines.

I am glad I broke down and bought a hero kit from Mike last week. Now I need to find someone to commission for a buildup into Red 5 that can match my original CC version's quality...

Anyone? Anyone?

Well, I guess I'll never get a SS X-wing. MR prices thier stuff WAY out of my range. :(

Chris

These will sell like crazy. I would rather build one myself, but someone up above said that 99% of MRs customers are not members here so it should do good.

Barry,

I hope they consider poseable wings. The "X" is not my favorite ship, but I did finally break down and get one. But I would not want one with wings "in the attack position" just because that's they way 99.9% of all the models you see are posed. It would be great to have the opportunity to get one with the wings closed. This offers a lot of flexibility in how you might display such a model.

:)
