From ebay seller jonnywar. His ebay store name is Pan-Galactic Bizzar. $66 for the parts and labor. All i had to pay for besides that was the shipping of it out there. He ships it back to you on his dime. Took about 7 business days from leaving my house til it arrived at my doorstep. And it is nice and bright, removable 1/8" thick blade and they sent back my MR blade. I love it. Highly recommended.

Sounds intriguing......pics???? :)

I notice the dueling upgrade is the same price as his normal one... I honestly don't know how he makes any money. I couldn't do it myself at cost for what he's selling.

I'll have to look him up, I have a Maul one from Ultra and its sweet. But I do know some friends who want theirs done.

Maybe someone can answer a question I have been wondering about. When you convert to Luxeon do you still get the ramp-up and down lighting saber effects you get with the MR LED blades?Or do they just turn on and off?

Well, yes and no. You'd have to see it.

It's one LED so it's not as simple as telling it to light up in sequence. The way it is hooked up to the electronics though fades the LED at the same rate as the MR would. So it's not quite on/off, but it's not quite what you'd get with the lightsaber specific luxeons drivers that are out there.

This may help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zs8pXe4Rfo I was trying to demonstrate the sounds for someone who didn't have a Vader so that's why I'm pretty much like "this is lame" the whole time and not enthusiastic at all.

FYI, I took that vid with the stock blade (still looks pretty rockin'). It's slightly over exposed, but the walls being illuminated should give a good idea on brightness.

xwing- i believe the adventure upgrade is only for the aluminum blade housing and a stronger retention bolt. this does not include the luxeon kit and stronger blade. so for the entire conversion would cost you $125

xwing...love your expression in the vid. :lol

Saber looks great though, very bright. I've wondered about the Luxeon setup as well as I have a very old Marco hilt that I might see if I can get to fit.

I had just wondered as I really like the ramp up and down of the MR LED but want something a little sturdier for my Anakin so may have to convert to Luxeon at some stage.Anyone know anyone in the UK do these conversions as most of the services seem to be in the US.

It says for a service... It also shows the mounted LED. If you had to buy both the normal and "adventure" one then it'd make sense, but I can't tell.

I'm willing to bet that may be the reason for little feedback. I wouldn't want to buy it when I wasn't sure because the description doesn't lay it out well.

On the other post... Not sure on any one that does the conversion in the UK. I'm guessing shipping is why you want to avoid it. I know Erv of www.plecterlabs.com in France. You can maybe talk to him.

Abaddon, yeah... wasn't too excited like I said. I recorded all of my vids in real quick succession. A person on the forum I moderate wanted to see the differences. He didn't care... and later I figured WTH throw them at youtube.

its still not all that hard to buy the parts say, from tim, or alex,(TCSS,ultrasabers), and do the conversion yourself.

theres tutorials on tims site showing how its done. a kit for the obi-wan and maul sabers is forthcoming from what i read, in about a month, thereabouts.

xwing- yeah, his wording is a tad confusing.

lan- i probably coulda done it myself, i've read the tutorials, but for $10-$20 more, i'd rather someone with more experience do it. i took a chance with his low feedback and all, but now i highly recommend him to anyone who doesn't feel comfortable doing there own conversion.

Jonnywar is Lucas Pena, he used to work in my shop about a year ago. I had to... uhm... let him go, he was costing me too much money :p He still likes to use the "I used to work for Ultra Sabers" line when he talks to people :lol

If using electrical tape to hold the Luxeon in place is "top notch" then I suppose he fits the bill.

Luxeon sabers dont scroll up and down true to the movie. Unless you call fading a single LED up and down an actual scrolling effect. :lol That is a stretch no matter how you describe it.

I guess it all depends on your definition. If you believe a Luxeon saber can scroll up and down properly then I guess by that loose definition EL sabers can also do it. :p
