MR Luke ANH FX sabers at Toys R US on sale

Normally $120, they have them for $99, along with Vader and Yoda. Picked one up today. Definitely has better sound and movement reactions compared to my Luke ESB. I was a bit disappointed to see the bulge by the "eye" was a separate chrome piece though.

Agreed, much improved over the ESB and this I think may be the last FX saber they make too.

Lighter, louder, brighter, smaller correct size, no dark areas in the blade yet developing like the ESB did.

Can't lose.

I have one small spot on mine that has a dark area, and I may take it back to get another tomorrow. But, it's only on the side and not from a dead or malfunctioning LED like my Luke ESB has.

My ESB just kept getting worse and worse over time, I do have the Windu and it is holding up well so far. But its not like I go ape with these things.

I keep wondering if anyone else will attempt these kind of products after MR?

I'm thinking the next company that does something like this will learn from the fan-built sabers and make them with a single LED in the hilt and a removable blade.

check out the MR "build your own" lightsaber FX kits at radio shack, they have the single LED in the hilt and they SUCK! they really do...

Indeed. MR did a great job on their FX units, They got better as they went along. I always wanted a qui-gon or episode 1 obi FX. I might pick up the ANH Luke, I don't care for the eye area but its a better saber and built to bash.

I was checking out the Luke ANH saber at Sharper Image a while ago and I wasn't too thrilled with it. Not sure if I'll get this one or not.

Yup, my ESB has an LED that flickers on if you flex the blade a bit, making me think it has a bad connection or something at that point. The new ANH has light all the way down the blade like all the LEDS are working, so I don't know what is causing the small dark spot on the one side. :unsure

The small dark spot is on ALL Fx sabers. It's where the two led strips join together inside the blade. It's there on the Anakin ROTS and on the Obi-Wan ROTS FXes too.

How are the hilts on the way of accuracy? They had the ANH Luke on display and it seemed to be the correct size. I was wondering about the Vader.

wow i saw the ANH luke at TRU today, looked REALLY nice, the display one had a crappy lotta dark spots on the blade, i just figure itd be abused a bit...

Now i just wish George wasnt screwing me over on the group buy deal via Junkyard

maybe they are under powering them or prehaps have um plugged into the wall lol

I saw the ANH Luke at Sharper Image tonight, and I was really not impressed with it all. While it is a bit brighter and a little louder than the ESB version that I have, I really thought the handle itself stunk. The finish on the ESB is way nicer and closer to real Graflex than this is. The clamp area also looked pretty plasticy, though the lever is an improvement over the ESB. The eye looks pretty bad, too. It just screams "toy". Not a bad piece. But, compared to the ESB version, I would say a step or two backward in terms of fit and finish.
