Limited Run <<< MPP >>> anyone??? _ NOW SHIPPING!!!

Re: <<< MPP >>> anyone??? _ NEW PICS - NOV. 16

I still think we need prepped graflexs for ROTJ stunt Vader's with holes drilled.

I personally have been holding off on a DV Graflex until a bit more info comes out, or we do some problem solving.

Those bolts held in a solid cylinder of metal, most likely reaching to beneath the clamp where the last bolts are.

Somehow, those blades (the cut-off metal post) were embedded in the cylinders.. in the case of the DV Graflex the rod was run through the bulb socket as well. Totally do-able but missing some crucial information.

Anyways, MPPs were made into fighting stunts too, at least 1 for ESB and ROTJ. maybe the same way?

Re: <<< MPP >>> anyone??? _ NEW PICS - NOV. 16

My biggest hang ups on starting it on starting the project have been the clamp and the ball catch beneath the shroud. I've see a lot of people use the wrong ball catch because the correct one is nearly impossible to find, but that detail will drive me crazy. I think that I could fabricate the clamp, it would just be difficult. The rest of the stuff I either have the part on hand or they are common place items. But I'm not that interested/worried about attaching the blade either, I've kind of given up on that because we'll probably never know the truth.

Re: <<< MPP >>> anyone??? _ NEW PICS - NOV. 16

Someone posted that there was a PVC tube used inside the Graflex to hold bits of it together, of which the white pipe can be seen in at least one photo, which I can't locate at the moment. I found the photo here w/ i the past year in someone's build thread.

Yes, in pictures of the "tire valve" or whatever it is (in place of the glass eye), you can see the top of what appears to be a white pvc tube pushing against the stem. Don't have the relevant pics on my phone otherwise I'd post them :/

Here is a pic of the tire valve. I've got one on hand for when I start building mine.

Which part did they say is plastic? The tire valve is metal, rubber and plastic.

Given the BTS footage of the archives talking about the first lightsaber - i'm not convinced that is plastic. What if its dirty aluminum?

Sorry, I should have been more thorough

The PVC, or plastic pipe pushing up up against the valve.

We found out recently what the bolts in the body were for
discussion starts at Kurtyboy's post #22, the insert was probably longer in this saber than the ANH Stunt

Re: <<< MPP >>> anyone??? _ NEW PICS - NOV. 16

That makes sense. It would be in the lower part of the top half at least. That would give the screws something with enough thickness for their holes to be threaded and allow the screws to put pressure against the inner rod. Interesting thread, I'm surprised I haven't seen it before now.
