Movie costumes Thor

I am progressing on my Movie/Comic version Thor. RPF member Jeremey from Malmey Studios made a great chest! and I worked on the arms using cut square foamies glued to an old vinyl power rangers suit, plastidipped, then painted with chrome silver paint. Much more work to be done though. Pics below.

The Arms and Vest Look Great together!
I did not think Id ever be saying this but I am slowly becoming interested in a thor costume for myself!
Paul Great Job!

Some more progress pics;

I glued the silver plates to the front. I added Blue EL wire up under and around each plate for a lighting effect if desired. Glued the blue fabric underneath the chest. I weathered the arms with black acrylic paint to help show the squares also. I am using the Marvel helmet for now. had to cut off the back and enlarge it due to large noggin.

I stuffed the vinyl suit with clothes, cut pieces of foam for muscles and glued them to the vinyl undersuit then taped over the foam with craft silver duct tape. Drew square pattern onto the taped arms and hot glued the cut foamie squares.

Thanks.

So vinyl suit, foam, duct tape and foamies covered in plasti-dip and spray paint? Boy that thing is going to be HOT and SWEATY. However it is bad ass looking. :)

What type of foam did you use for the muscle beneath? I am thinking of doing that to make a muscle suit.

this looks awesome. i've got to try this suit. although i think an asian thor would look weird. lol

I only wish that I had done a better job with squares on the left arm (did that one first), as you can see that some of the squares are "off". I did a much better job on the right arm because I drew a pattern on the taped off arm and placed the cut foamie squares onto the pattern. if the arm did not have so much definition/curves, it would have gone much smoother. I am so glad that those arms are done. Now let's see what mobility is like once I finally put it on! LOL. Thanks.

Getting closer to finishing. Added the cape. had to bolt it to the front of the undersuit.

Re: Movie costumes Thor more pics

First time donning this suit. Fits great but I did not attach straps yet in the back to tighten it up so does not look as good in the pictures. Sorry for blurry shots. I need to adjust the helmet also and add the hair and eyebrows.
