Motorised walking AT-AT!

Wow - that's remarkable.

A toy line needs to be produced - I want one of those to scare the cat with. ;)

Is this a homemade motorized mechanism? That is totally awesome! Whoever made that needs to make it available for schmucks like me who have no clue how to make something motorized.

Love the "SFX" photography..:) I want one!! (I really want a 1:1 scale one, but this would do! )

It can't be stop motion. There are a couple parts of the video (look at aound 40 seconds in where they pan the camera) where you can see hands and body parts in the shot and everything moves normally.

Very cool.

I thought it was stop motion at first too -- it does look like it -- but there's also a portion at about 00:27 where there's a fly buzzing around it as it walks. That would be awfully difficult to do believably in stop motion!

Wow.. imagine a few of these on a mini hoth set. You could add the blasters, sounds and special effects with some software without all the time it would take to stop animate and do a mini movie. I wonder if he has a tutorial anywhere?

Lego is scheduled to pop one out this upcoming year. The electronics could be modified for a model of one. ;) They had a super large prototype that was incredible, but they had to down scale it for cost to the consumer. Been in the work for years and finally on its way.

Just watch the the boards here when that puppy hits TRU or Target LOL...it will a good day for us all!

THAT was fantastic! I want one now! It's got the nice staccato movements of the Empire walkers down pat. Some slight improvement could be done to some parts of the walk cycle, but for the most part, it is GREAT.

The AT-AT Luvah approves.

What a great proof of concept.

Now time to go full scale!

Yeah baby. Make the commute to work slow but interesting!

That's awesome! I wonder how much money and time he put into that. Looks amazing, would love to get my hands on that, even if it was to check out the mechanics.
