More ebay copycats: 'danlovescandi' & 'nitroustanker'

ebay member 'danlovescandi' has bought my Terminator surveillance and BTTF Marty family photos, scanned them and is selling them under the username 'nitroustanker'.

Avoid this a-hole and if he's a member here then f-u.

And yes I am absolutely positive these are scans of mine. I can see the tell tale signs, techniques I had to use to get a certain effect, things I did which I feel I could've done better.

And in the case of the Terminator photos, the whole lower third of one of the small photos I had to create myself (since it is not shown in the movie) by watching the entire movie looking for a frame where Arnie's mouth was at the same angle, then add it to the photo, re-size it, distort it, re-colour it and add grain to match the rest of the photo. This took me three days until I was happy it matched!

So this guy just happened to use the exact movie frame that I did? LOL!

It won't stop me making great replicas, but certain 'premium' items will be confined to RPF sales in future.

Probably the best thing you can do.

I ran into someone copying my Doc and Marty photo a few months ago. Since there were only three known original photos in collectors circles, I made some alterations to the scan to ID it better (even in low res ebay photos). Sure enough this guy from England saw fit to do a horrible scan/photo of it and put it in a $5 frame.

He sold a few for $80 or so and MORE than paid back his original ebay purchase. That's one of the reasons why I HATE selling on ebay.

I'd much rather sell direct to members of the RPF.

I did report it but that was over a week ago and I never heard anything back as usual from ebay's GREAT customer service. I like the way they give you no response other than to complete a survey which they can stick up their a$$ as far as I'm concerned.

Anyway, I don't own the copyright on Terminator or Back to the Future so ebay won't do a thing.

All of these copycats need to recognize and respect the skills that these talented people have. I can't believe they are getting away with such things. I hope they get what's coming to them. Good luck.

Ebay doesn't care about this as you are already copyright infringing. Never sell to hoist73 either. He does the same thing.
