Models we'd like to have seen made

I've never seen those before! Were those just released in the UK or overseas??

I had the Cygnus kit in the very early 80's (Think about 81 when I would have been 10).
As memory serves I think the kit was big (The box states over 2 feet long) and I think it was only cheap to buy although from what I read it is rare and expensive now.

Yeah it probably would be... that's like the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang model that was released back in the 60's. Extremely rare and difficult to find anymore!

A model that I have always wanted is the "Smiley Face" spaceship from Heavy Metal.
I thought it would make a great night light. Take a dose of some good nyborg, and just stare at it.....

There is/was a resin kit of this one out there.

Stumbled upon this thread just now.

Someone mentioned the fighters from Enemy Mine and the Scrambler from Space Hunter. I have created Both fighters from Enemy Mine as kits in 1/48th, and the Scrambler is almost complete as a kit, in 1:35th scale. The 'Moon' truck is also a kit in 1:35th scale on my site.
The fighters are on my store page and the scrambler build is ion the 'Latest Projects' page.

There are some cool suggestions here!

I'd like to see:

The Gun Star from The Last Starfighter. NON PAPER MODEL!
Prometheus.
Corellian blockade runner.
Alexei Leonov: 2010.
Dropship from 2001: A space Odyssey.
The Time machine TRAIN from Back to the Future III.

and whatever ship this is.317008.jpg

For Non-Entertainment related one vehicle I'd add to the list is the Dodge Avenger, anywhere between the 2008–2014 year models. I happen to like the look, and I would like to take one of those models and make it look like a Wasteland vehicle, just to know what it looks like.

Yes, I know this is an old thread but just found this site and wanted to post for the 1/35th scale Gunstar from the Last Starfighter.
Been printing this kit from stl's that I got on 1/35 and 1/72 Gunstar (The Last Starfighter). Which also has the 1/72nd scale file with it. The 1/35th is HUGE and so far, have used 3 reels of PLA (see images). Gambody (Gunstar 3D Printing Model | Assembly) also has files and that site has some excellent models.
Wish me luck in this build!

Hello every one,
only just read this post, here are a few of the models people wanted to see built, the Leonov from 2010 is in the sci fi and film museum in Milton Keyens along with both versions of the back to the future train from the third movie. I have also posted my own blockade runner model which is now in a private collection. Hope this helps a little

For the moment, the Gunstar is in the hanger until I acquire new paint. When I moved, a lot of what I had had become damaged and I have a bin with a harden clump of various paint at the bottom.
Sor for now, I will leave you something to aim for.
Thinking of scaling the foreground image (I created from movie image) and print on a clear sheet for my model. (Background is Rylos)
Will let you know after paint.

Re: Models we'd like to have been made

Not Sci-fy but, I would love to have a large scale plastic model of the Spirit of St.Louis,
Charles Lindbergh's plane
How about this one? 34 inch wingspan...
eBay search just now returned 34 offerings for this kit, with good price ranges.
Advantage is, it would be a very good depiction of the 'canvas' covering!

I guess I am weird for this—but I would like to see model kits of *inaccurate* representations of the USS Enterprise…like here:

Or the odd, single nacelle ship on one of the screen inserts:

I guess it is the pre-FUNKO ship with the bridge being the entirety of the primary hull :)

The multilayered saucer on the TMP action figures I wanted..not the figures themselves…

The Aoshima line of Alien/Aliens stuff

I have a friend in Japan who worked at Aoshima for a bit and was part of a proposal to pick up the Aliens license and do some kits

These would be all new toolings. They had things like a 1/72 Narcissus shuttle with interior and dropship with APC, the Sulaco, and a 1/35 APC with opening doors and some figures among some other things. They worked out the costs and it was feasible, and even worked out a possible distribution deal with Moebius, but ultimately passed on developing it further as they felt there was not enough interest over other products

Although they did eventually do a limited run of a diecast 1/72 dropship that was very expensive and I think they did a few repops of the old Halcyon kits in the Japan market.

I would love to see accurate/detailed commercial kits from this franchise. The Halcyon kits are not great and need a lot of work, plus they are at ridiculous price levels now

I would especially love an improved 1/12 Alien Queen
