Some old games could make good movies. This one would have a chance of being a thriller if done right. Pole position could just be a movie about formula 1 racing lol. Even some NES games would be kinda cool movies if taken seriously and backed by the studio.

Even megaman or some of the lesser known games that had good stories. ghosts 'n goblins, wizards and warriors. Though I think Bionic commando would be good and i'm surprised Capcom hasn't had an anime series made out of it.

It was sort of the premise of War games. The two guys in the silo failed to start a launch which would have caused WWIII. The kicked them out for the WOPPER which matthew brodericks character hacks to 'play a game'.

True but 99% of the movies out there based off of video games have been a major flop.

Doom - Doomed
Duke Nukem' - Never made it to celluloid
Halo - No idea on the status of this film

The whole silo sequence happens before the opening credits.
