Unlimited Run Minority Report Sonic Shotgun

Just starting to gauge interest for a run of my "Sonic Shotgun" from Minority Report.

The Sonic will come assembled and painted. I should have pictures of a painted one up sometime next week. At the very least, the Sonic will be posable.. as in you can rotate the barrel around 360 degrees, just not spun as seen in the movie. I am however, working on getting the gun to spin and lock in place just like the movie, but I'm not guaranteeing it at this time. If I do get it working it will not add to the price.

This is a big gun with lots of resin. There will also be v-formed parts and real metal allen head screws holding everything together. This will also entail at least a 4 color paint job.

As such, I am estimating final cost to be in the $225-250 range + shipping.

If this peeks your interest, please let me know and I will add you to the list.

UPDATE 7-22-15

Project is a go. Please see Finished Pictures in post #24 below.

I have started making the molds and I will have these under full production within a few days. My Sonic will only be offered as a complete, assembled and painted prop. All parts will be cast in smooth-on 300 series resin and will include real metal screws for assembly. All parts are airbrushed with metallic finishes and the main body is Spaz Stix Chrome, protected with clear coat. I think this finish turned out awesome and really matches the screen seen guns.

As projected, due to the size and complexity of the Sonic and it's finishes the price will be set at $250.

The good news is, this price will include shipping within the U.S. Since it varies widely, shipping outside the U.S. will be actual cost and I can provide you with a quote for that. Also, due to the size and complexity of this prop, I will require a $100 non-refundable deposit to get on the list. This is to insure serious interest only. Over the years the number of people who express interest and then actually follow through has continued to drop, and I really can't take the time to build this prop on spec. (If for any reason I don't complete the project, the deposit is fully refundable) If you prefer to pay full amount up front, you will receive one on my Precrime lapel pins I did several years ago as a thank you. It can be seen in several of the pics below.

Production time from deposit to shipping will be 2-3 weeks.

I will PM this info to everyone who has already expressed interest and anyone else interested, please let me know.

Thanks,

-GG

Shoot. who need's money. Count me Interested depending on time frame. If It would fall within the Friday after next. I'm all in...

Question, these come painted, I was wondering what you were thinking paint wise? I'd love to see like a chromed finish, i.e. like Alclad or something, electroplating would be crazy expensive but extremely cool. I love the "heat wear", or blue and reddish hue that the screen used sonic pistols have, would that be an option? Just thinking of ideas here :)

Here's a pic of how the pistol looks, from the upcoming Propstore auction.

Definitely interested! :)

If it's feasible I'd love it if it were spinnable.
And I agree with silverskyes, a chromed(-looking) finish would be very cool!

I'm regretfully going to have to withdraw my Interest In this project. apologies...

The paint on the shotgun is very similar, yet does have some differences.

Most notably are the grips, on the shotgun they are very dark grey to black.

There are also no "heat discolorations" on the screen used shotgun. But I do like them on the pistol and I will probably offer them as an option for the shotgun.

There is quite a bit of chrome/polished metal on the gun that absolutely has to be replicated. Right now I am playing with Spazstix Chrome with a 2k clear coat.

I will put up pics of a fully painted gun before this run is a go.
