Does anyone know the Millennium Falcon Model part that is just below the Round vent at the back of the Falcon?

(I think it's from a Tank Model kit...)

Here's one example Pic:

And another close-up:

(I realize the pics don't show the real parts, but similar parts on Falcon Model kits, I'm just trying to give a location of the parts on the real model...)

that is the rear "engine deck" off of a panther tank. The same panel is used all over the place on the ILM models.

If you are detailing a ERTL falcon - look for a 1/144 tank. I used it on mine and it was perfect.

if you're going a ESB 32' falcon its a 1/72 tank, and the 5 footer used a 1/35

I think it's well-established that it's the same Airfix Panther part that's cut down for the R2 strip on the X-Wings.

yeah there are several variations on that panther tank. In general all those 1/72 tank kits are great greeblie sources. I went on a binge and bought every WWII 1/72 tank I could find in "lots" where several modesl came in one ebay auction. I got a large selection that way that consistently aid my scratch bilding efforts ;)
