Midwick Armory's Green Arrow Project

As frustrated as I had been with Smallville throughout its 10 seasons, the main reason I kept watching from Season Six on was the inclusion of Green Arrow into young Clark Kent's life.

IMHO, Justin Hartley was a much better Oliver Queen on Smallville than Arthur Curry in the CW's ill-fated Aquaman pilot. Hartley made Oliver a layered, complex character worthy of Chloe Sullivan's and the audience's affections.

Thus, when my buddy Geoff Gay--whose Midwick Armory has mostly specialized in Battlestar Galactica flightsuits--decided to expand his repertoire, I convinced him to replicate the Smallville Green Arrow costume. And by "convinced," I mean begged. :lol

Here are some in-progress photos of the vest:

I think you'll agree that Geoff's craftsmanship is stellar! :cool

I'll post more pics as he works toward completion.

Hey Thom--You don't have to tell me about his suits, they are STELLAR indeed. I loved the Green Arrow. Perfect replica, congrats. Looking forward to more pics.:love

Thanks, JP and OliverQueenIND! :)

We plan to finish tomorrow. (Knock wood. ;) ) I'll post final photos then.

Though GA didn't get finished today, Geoff Gay snapped a few photos of a mostly complete costume:

Please bear in mind that the belt, bracers, and greaves aren't finished yet. You'll probably agree, however, that his workmanship is pretty damn awesome!

Thanks for the positive feedback! Geoff and I are pretty stoked with how the costume is coming together.

After I posted the last photos I realized I omitted the cod from the list of incomplete items. Doh! But the cod flap is assembled and ready to be attached to the pants.

TTFN!

Sorry it's taken awhile to respond, but I returned from Ohio Tuesday afternoon to discover my U-Verse had completely conked out--no home phone, internet, or television service. It took AT&T a couple days to resolve the problem. :(

Geoff and I are totally jazzed by everyone's positive feedback on Green Arrow. He's hoping to finish it in the next week or so. I'll update this thread as he sends progress reports.

Nice job. I need to post pics of my hubby's suit. We got the S10 version from the real makers who made it for the show.
