After seeing my the work my friend thegreatgalling did on his life size Myers I had to figure out a way to display my Madman78 mask painted up by jackinthebox. Seeing as how I didn't have the space for a stand up I settled on a bust instead. Of course I had to take the obligatory picture of the mask on my face before I started anything.
I picked up this hollow tabletop mannequin bust from E bay
and immediately drilled holes in the eyes so that I could install realistic eyes. Before I proceeded any further I wanted to make sure the mask would fit properly.
Once I knew it would I finished hollowing out the eye sockets and started experimenting with painting flesh tones. Besides some models here and there this was the first time I had never used spray paint on a prop.
After much frustration with skin tones I decided I was done since 95% of it would be under the mask anyways. I bought some cheap eyes and installed them
And while it was creepy enough the eyes were just not realistic enough for me so while waiting for new ones to arrive I worked on some of the other items I needed for the bust.
I was able to get my hands on a pair of vintage Big Macs coveralls
but they were grey so I dyed them with dark green Rit dye.
When that was done I installed new eyes
Slapped a black t shirt and the coveralls on it and cut them to fit. And at this point I'd say he's 95% done.
I may go back and put some eyelashes on him and I still have to play around with the mask placement. Hope to have that all sorted out soon and take some better pics with my camera.
