It's also available for instant streaming on Netflix. Watched it last week. Very interesting to say the least. Lots of great sci-fi themes explored.

TCM lists it as (2010) Restored Version Running Time:149 Minutes

The making of later "Metropolis Refound" 2010, Documentary, mentions the Film Museum in Argentina, where the print was discovered.

So pretty sure it's the latest.

The scratchy footage, is the found footage spliced in. You should see some text in a font that is different. I think that is footage which is still missing, but I forget.

The newly found footage was fairly low quality, 16mm I think. But at least it exists at all.

Looks like they've removed it from instant streaming and only show the 2001 restoration as available. While there is a listing for the 2010 version it shows as "Metropolis Restored" DVD availability date unknown (it doesn't street until the 26th).

I think it said at the start there will be parts that are black screen because they never found footage that belongs there.
