My MG Rex kit just arrived on Monday, I will admit i wasn't expecting it to be a PROPER model kit, i was expecting a pre-painted toy with sub assemblies, but im not complaining, it looks sweet and pretty straight forward build, once I've finished my Galactica ill get started on it, if you want any pics of it let me know

I'd love to see as pics as you're willing provide.

I'm thinking about picking a kit up and would love to know what I'm getting myself into!

Nick

It was a good price but i had to cancel it as i just have no space after all and it's probably extremely fragile. Nick, you need to make a kit of your Mk 2 lol

I just realized the blasted thing went down 10.00 since i canceled it. So i preordered it again. hope for once it's on time.

sorry didn't mean to double post.

Andy how'd you get yours so fast? It's not as horrifyingly difficult as it sounds when it says 600 parts lol. Wish i had the cash for 2 of them so i could do the beat up version from MGS4.

Ah they get them faster since they're in Japan lol. I never thought to go with them. Hopefully this isn't like the one bigbadtoystore order i had that took 4 months past the release date.

Rex model looks totally super. Now, can you guys tell me how tall is 1/100?? Also, in the first page the guy holding a Rex model in his hand...is that 1/72 resin kit?

Mike

The 1/100 kit is about 8 inches tall in the standing/walking configuration, from ground level to top of radome. Awesome kit, but in true Kotobukiya fashion, parts prefer to fall off.

There was a time when the Rex practically didn't exist, so I built my own.

Is that completely scratch built? Looks great!

Love the Gekko,too!

Seeing Rex next to Gekko makes me wonder how tall is Rex supposed to be is "real life"?
Or any of the Metal Gear, really? Are there any good official source on size or do we have to scale from screen grabs?

Yup, the Rex & Gekko are 100% scratch built. Thanks!

The math puts Rex at a total height of 20-21 meters.
Here's the manual's artwork & a figure included in the kit showing scale.
