MegaMan and Red Hood Build...First Timer

So the Las Vegas Comi-con is coming in June and I decided I would make the costumes for myself and my family.....My Daughters are going as The Joker and Harley Quinn... My sons are doing Red Hood, Gambit and Megaman....myself Doctor Doom. I started with the helmet and head piece for Megaman and Red Hood, I found this site and learned about pepakura files and saw how cool they looked, sooo I thought I would give it a try. The Megaman helmet I got thanks to aron42486 and the Red Hood helmet piece I recieved from BlackKaos (many thanks to both).

Ok, I was finally able to work more on my builds today ....not much but some..
I noticed some areas on the Megaman helmet that the fiberglass was severly bubbled out so I cut those out and re-glassed them

Then it was onto the Red Hood Mask...
I decided to try to use spray adhesive to put the fiberglass in then use the resin...

It worked...eh ok-ish....the fiberglass cloth went in just fine, but when I went to resin it a lot of the cloth pieces kept coming off the helmet, so I think I will stick to the way I tried the first time, resin-cloth-resin, I make a bigger mess but it works better.......for me.



Noticed when I set the Red Hood mask down to cure I actually goofed and now I have a bit of an indent on the top...hope I can fix it in the BONDO stage tomorrow

OK....BONDOing is a bit harder than it looks.......gonna take a few builds to get it down smooth

Yup looks like I have some sanding to do........

Looking great! Always loved MegaMan, he never an amazing amount of love so it's great to watch this build. Seeing the blue on the helmet immediately brought a smile to my face.

Me too....LOL....it means I am close to completion and can start on the rest of the armor

You think you can put a red light in the front of the Megaman helmet? Maybe find a red turn light or something that would fit?

If I have time to put in electronics I certainly will light up the red in the helmet, however as it is going right now I will run out of time before Vegas Comi-con....maybe after I can elaborate on the helmets.

I was finally able to get some more work done on the Red Hood helmet.....still not sure how I am attaching the back of the helmet, any suggestions???

Ok after I messed up the paint for the Megaman X helmet and having to sand it......3 TIMES......I finally got it right....whew



I am also close to finishing the armor as well
