MCU Spider-Man Build (SPOILERS)

I don't know if anyone else has caught/mentioned this, but it appears there is a faceshell, or some kind of face apparatus under the mask
It doesn't look like stitching to me, but something UNDER his mask

Yes! That at first, along with the way the frames for the eyes being flush with the mask, made me think it might be a helmet rather than just a cloth mask (like with black panther) since the costume department is usually pretty good at concealing that the actor is concealing a face mask— But then again, this is just CGI, so that's just pure speculation on my part. I can't wait to get a better look at the practical suit.
I also noticed these lines are all over the costume:

(highlighted where I can see them, there are probably more.)

I didn't even notice those lines on the main suit, and after looking at the upper shoulder/back area, the webs might be the same material as the shoulder black stripe thing, since they both have the same rubbery sheen

I also don't think the webs themselves are indebted, but the flat red space is

That should look good, sucks you couldn't find any red or blue.
Are you just searching through Joann's, or are you going to look for some online sources?
Are you looking for spandex or sports material?
You might want to look into something woven that imitates the look of kevlar/ carbon fibre (at least for the blue) since it looks like that might be what they were going for.
If this kevlar was red, it would sorta look like the material.

And images of blue carbon fibre make me think they could have based the pattern/ fabric off the material.

Just a bit of speculation.

That's a good point. I'll have to look into some of those! I had a swatch of red fabric that I got at Joanns a while ago for a Spidey mask, and in person it's the right shade of color, but the Joanns I went to ran out. I did find the perfect blue though but it was only 2 way stretch. The search continues...

I'm glad you found a pleather that looks really rubbery, great find man!
Also fair warning if you plan on stitching the webs: It will hamper movement greatly, due to stopping the stretch of the fabric

The blue doesn't look like carbon fiber to me, it once again appears to have the hexagonal pattern, which is most clearly seen on the thigh and knee
However the way the fabric creases makes me think it's not done with any printing like previous suits, but is some kind of custom weave, as it reminded me of this fabric(which ironically I only have in red) from my days playing baseball

I don't think he's planning on stitching it, it's just something some people on this thread, myself included, thought might be part of the movie suit.
And it shouldn't hamper movement if the fabric is stretched while you sew it, or if you use elastic thread.

What's great is that I always thought the costume the Amazing Spider-Man wears in "Shattered Dimensions" is made of that material. If you look closely it has the same pattern.

maxresdefault.jpg (Sorry MegaLegoFilms, went a bit off topic there)
Anyways, the blue looks like it has more of a woven pattern to me.

Like if that Kevlar/Carbon Fiber (Not sure which was in the picture, maybe even a blend) shown above was all blue, the pattern weave would look pretty close.

But then again, this is all speculation. We won't really know until someone gets a up-close look at the costume

Personally I see more of a smaller Deadpool type pattern on the red and a smaller honeycomb on the blue

Alright, so, another small update... lens frames are done! I started by making a template, scaling it to my face, and then cutting it out 6 times on foam:

Then after some gluing, cutting, and learning for the 30th time why hot glue guns are called hot glue guns, I got this:

I still need to paint them and attach lenses, and they aren't accurate, but I'm still pretty satisfied

I tried looking on Spandex World but I could not find anything close enough to the fabric they use on the suit but I did find this.Screenshot (9).pngScreenshot (8).pngScreenshot (7).pngScreenshot (6).png

Someone named brandonogilberto is making a REALLY good pattern for the suit. To my perspective it looks like the most accurate pattern I have seen.
One more thing where did that guy with the mask on get the lenses or did he make them.

That's McLean Krieger. He has Facebook, and he does this sort of stuff a lot. He was the one that made the most accurate TASM1 Pattern

Oh, i know him. I just didn't recognize him what with the mask on his face. Thanks.

Looks great! One of them could use a bit of smoothening on the inside, but great nonetheless for a foam build.
