MCP - Marvel Crisis Protocol

These are miniatures from the Atomic Mass Games table top game. Same game company now that make Star Wars Legion and the new game Shatterpoint in a similar scale to MCP

While it is a Marvel property, they apparently do not have the license for movie versions of characters so they are the more traditional comic book outfits.

Obviously characters have often had many outfits over the years.

At any rate, with Thor Ragnarok and Guardians of the Galaxy being my favorite movies, I naturally jumped right in with the Asgard and Guardians affiliations

The figures are roughly 1/44 scale

So first up Thor

Loki is a 3D print as well. I somehow lost the actual MCP figure that came with Thor and did not want to buy a duplicate box, so..old style comic book it is

These look a bit larger than 1/48 model kits. Maybe 1/48 models can still be used with them anyway.

They are

The scale is based what we (my gaming group) could find in various Marvel wikis and other places for the height of certain characters

using Red Skull for example as the "standard candle" if you will, he is around 6 feet tall and scaling his mini from that works to something between 1/43 to 1/44

O scale (1/48) Buildings and cars look close enough if a bit small

I did not make this 3D and laser cut terrain, or the vehicles, but others in the group have and they aim for around 1/43 to 1/48 scale to get it in the ball park

Continuing the Asgard theme, I would wind up painting some for a friend in trade for some models

I tried to paint different colors to help distinguish his between mine and wound up giving him the better ones, or at least in my opinion the better ones

for example the Heimdall, Skurge the Executioner and Valkyrie I gave him.

And Rocket and Groot. I love the way they sculpted it so Rocket is standing on a root from Groot

LoL. A 3d custom print might cost less than some of these figures!

Yeah, the problem is since they are gaming figures, they come packed along with cards and tokens for the game which make them more expensive then they would be as standalone plastic figures. Probably not worth it if you are not playing the game or specifically looking for something in this scale. Also you have the overhead of Marvel/Disney licensing. 3D prints do not have to worry about that stuff. Right now there area a lot of patreons and etsy sellers that are producing alternate sculpts for the figures in the same scale
