Yo choom.
Ive been working on a Maxtac cosplay and thought id share.
Pants:
I started with the pants by making a pattern out of an old pair that fit me.
The carbon fibre fabric is from etsy. It was aweful to work with its so sticky.
Kneepads:
I freehanded a pepakura shape and fibreglasses it. Added foam and the velcro strap to the back.
Jacket:
Theres not many references for the maxtac jacket but i think its the same as trauma team with a different color palette. I made the pattern from a tshirt which to me feels ghetto as hell since im used to making more accurate patterns but it worked.
The arm lights are purple fairy lights behind silicone. I modelled the mold in onshape and printed it in resin. Resin doesnt seem to play well with platinum silicone though so i had to build up the primer a lot to get it to cure fully and i still had to remove it from the mold before it stopped being tacky.
Bulletproof vest:
Sorta winged the pattern based off the jacket pattern but the shapes are pretty simple and since its a uniform the fit doesnt need to be wildly perfect.
Eva foam to pad out the front shoulders and collar. Otherwise its the same nasty carbon fibre fabric. Im so sick of taping everywhere i do topstitching.
The plugs on the front and buckles on the back i modeled in onshape.
Decals are either cut on my cricut or laser jet print transfers.
The nametag is an el panel, styrene and acetate print.
Alright thats all for now. The helmet is nearly done too and ill be working on dual mantis blades later this week.
