I think the original batch of 1980s toy figures were already too big. The figures were bigger than the animated cartoon drawings, the mini-comics, etc.
I get it, He-Man should look "heroic-size" and bigger than normal people, yeah, but . . . those toy characters could barely have moved their limbs around effectively like that if they were real people. Try tying a bunch of pillows all over your arms & legs and then see how gracefully you can swing a sword or ride a horse.
When the mini-comic and package artists drew the early He-Man figures in action, they were drawn about the size of the figures at most, and usually a bit leaner/smaller. IMO that's probably the best plan.
That would be HUGE by real life standards, but the problem is it would barely rate a glance by 21st century Hollywood movie standards.
