Mass Effect M-92 Mantis Sniper Rifle

It took 20 hours and created a few white hairs but I turned a Nerf Raider into a M-92 Mantis sniper rifle from Mass Effect. Yes, it still shoots the foam darts.

I just got back from DragonCon and everyone there loved it. Even had Chris Priestly and Mark Meer shoot it.

You already know I loved following your last Mass Effect build on DA, I'm not over there much these days (no time!), so I'm glad you posted this one here so I got to see it, great job. I've got it on my list of future builds to try something similar, though not with that base, which worked really well, bravo!

Thanks, the Raider seemed to work best for me as the base. Mostly cause I wanted to keep it operational. ^_^ I'm a bit opposite, I'm always on DA and hardly on here.

It truly is! I can receive hundreds of thousands of comments, I can have people begging to purchase it, but nothing compares to Chris or Mark smiling when they fired a shot. Especially when Mark Meer said, "I have a bunch of Nerf guns at home but none are Mass Effect related! This is cool!"

All you need is for the gun to be seen and touched by the magnificent Jennifer Hale and your Mantis could legitimately be advertised as being endorsed by Commander Shepard!

looks like expanding foam to me. then maybe sanded to shape?

I used Great Stuff expanding foam. Once it hardens you can actually cut it into shape with a knife.
