Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Good episode last night but one thing confused me: besides the 28 agents that got turned into Hive minions...where were the other countless of agents in that base? in other episodes we see background/filler agents; officers, guys in suits, lab staff, tac teams, technicians, etc...

Can some folks in here explain this? It's kinda hard to believe we didn't see numerous agents in their main base

The base was in lockdown. Presumably they were trapped in whatever section they happened to be in at the time.

Sent from my Motorola StarTAC

Yes the base was in lockdown but it's very hard to believe we didn't see any of them trying to do anything or communicate with Coulson especially the tac teams. At least show a montage of different agents in different rooms/areas doing something or fighting Hive minions. It's the main base so there's gotta be dozens of agents in there.

But how often do we see no name agents actually do anything on base in the show? About the only time we see the no names ever do anything is either when they're running some sort of op and they need the extra firepower or they need some red shirts like in the finale. Plus, don't forget, it would still cost them time to film these scenes with the extras running around doing things, even though they're just extras they still get paid and you'd also have to pay a crew to shoot their scene, that's extra money that could go to longer scenes with the main cast or one more cool effects shot.

Good point. It's just odd that only the main cast were shown in their massive headquarters during those scenes. From a previous episode after Daisy shook the base and left we see a lot of S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel around..

Just a thought on this one: If the main cast mostly dealt with Hive and Hydra, Gideon Malick... I wonder what the other agents are doing? What are their missions? Who are they going after? We see a lot of these agents walking by in the background and look busy whether they're tac teams, officers, lab staff, etc...

I got a little lost in this one. Someone refresh my memory. What was up with the beginning with Daisy and Coulson in the pod on the other planet? And why did Daisy go rogue at the end?

The opening scene was a dream sequence, and it was earth, not another planet.

They didn't really explain the end. It was 6 months later, and everything had changed. I think the point was simply that Daisy left Shield, started an alt folk band, (ok, I made that up) and Coulson is no longer the director. Possibly.

Okay, am I the only one who had a total Deadpool moment when SquidWard jumped over that box?

"He's gonna do a superhero landing! He's gonna do a superhero landing! YES!!! Superhero landing."

All they needed was a bullet time shot somewhere. He was dressed too much like Neo.

It will be the most quoted line from Deadpool because it's everywhere. Has anyone traced it back to where it was done first?

1. Who is the new director? I can't see it being Talbot and they can't afford Samuel Jackson on a weekly basis. May? A new character?
Director Hill? Maybe she left Stark due to the events of Civil War.

2. So AoS will be the first with an actual life model decoy. Will it go Ultron on them, be like Edi from Mass Effect, or just another character?
Not sure what the LMD will mean to the characters but those viewers that were mourning the loss of Bobbi as eye-candy might like what Dr. Radcliffe has planned. If he is going to put his AI(da) into the LMD then it will probably look like this https://ottomodels.com/portfolio/amanda-rae-model/

It's back!

And my Season 4 premiere rating is.....Good. Not great, not bad.

It's more serious, it's darker and it's gone fast and loose with exposition and story - lot of ground covered in 40 mins. Bloodier, more violent/darker themes. Still, the characters are still who we've come to know, and they have followed that through - they don't just about face or change their mind on something if the plot needs it. They stick to what they know and go with it. So we have a lot of tension and the team is no longer a team. Broken and weakened.

Visually, not a bad episode - Ghostrider looks pretty badass. Can't wait to learn more about him. Lot of questions from the premiere about a lot of this season.

Looking forward to it and glad that it's back. :thumbsup

Yeah, I enjoyed the premier. I like the cinematic tonal quality, and the use of some artistic angles. Ghost Rider was great. I have not been reading any of the newer ghost rider comics with the car, so I have no idea how closely it comes to the the page, but on the show I thought they did a great job. Spent some money on those FX!

Ghost Rider looked fantastic. I liked the intro for the character a whole lot.

The team being fractured works for me, I really do not mind there being a bigger shield with a new director, etc.

Yeah the the fx was pretty awesome. The bazooka sequence is in the comics as well, although in slightly different manner. Thought it was a good, strong start to the season.

My main problem with Ghostrider is that the place that made the Charger put in a fake supercharger. WTH? Otherwise I liked when Daisy
told Ghostrider to go ahead and kill her and he didn't. I assume it's because she is a good person.
. I'm wondering what direction that robot will go in. Is that guy on the up and up or is this heading to robo-brothel.
