I seem to remember reading (back in the day) that he had done like over 100 acting jobs before Star Wars. I think my first exposure to him was a guest appearance on the Partridge Family.

It sure seems like it was the soap to be on. Oddly enough half of them end up back there at one point or another in their careers after leaving.
