I did this blaster build for my wife's Mara Jade costume.
I started with a nerf zombie strike blaster and completely disassembled and repainted each part. I sanded off all logos, and used filling compound where necessary. I purposely left the screw holes unfilled in case I want to change the fonts or preform maintenance. I am sourcing the correct length button heads, so that the screws will be surface mount.
I did a tri tone finish, I have gun metal accents, silver trigger and recharge port, and the rest of the blaster was painted black, then dry brushed silver.
Next, I gutted the internals to make room for a soundboard, LED, and battery.
I used a spark soundboard with some creative wiring.
I wired the trigger to the auxiliary switch tabs, pressing it plays the blaster or stun sound depending on which font is active, and holding it down makes the empty/jam sound.
I wired a momentary switch to the clash sensor tabs, and pressing that switch plays a reload sound.
I wired the primary switch tabs to the primary switch, it turns the blaster on and off.
Each font has a blast color, font one plays blast sounds and has a 6w RED, font two plays stun sounds and has a 6w BLUE.
I have the swing sensitivity set as high as possible, swinging the blaster very fast, like your swinging it up onto target, plays a target acquired sound.
