well the pistol I'd be very interested in Ozy but I'm not sure about shpping to the UK. I think I'd have to ask if it could be shipped in two or three pieces. the pistol grip and trigger one piece. the cylinder another. then the barrell a third piece.
by the way, been doing some reading on the fosbery revolver. One of very few revolver designs that actually required a safety catch due to the nature of how it was fired and ******.
but yeah, can't wait for the dingus to get posted up in the junkyard.

Cool. I feel like there's still a lot of misinformation out there about the original prop and its variations. For instance, people claim the earlier Haunted Studios version is the one used in "The Black Bird." I've seen the 1975 movie, and the bird in that film is enormous! Here's a frame:
For me, I believe the version with the protruding feathers, and which was used in a "Black Bird" promo photo with George Segal (not the actual film), may be cast from the original mold which likely had protruding feathers that were later shaved down to achieve the look on the movie version. At least that's the theory I'm leaning toward given the photos I've seen. It still leaves me unsure if the so-called plaster versions said to exist may be cast from this original, unshaved mold which could lead people to assume they're fake when they simply haven't been shaved down.
Speaking of the original mold, I wonder if it still exists in WB archives? I've seen it discussed by people as though it's still there.

You were right lastdiplomat, the falcon was black at John's Grill so that must have been the lead bird I posted a pic of for a publicity photo!!

Oops, I made a goof. Sorta. Kinda. It's complicated. :confused
Anyway, I originally reported that the Falcon sculpt was 11.5" when I in fact meant 11.3".
The reason for this is that two measurments were given for the Dingus's height; 11.5 and 11.3. I reasoned that 11.3 was the more precise number and that most people would simply round up. I locked the height in early on and then had to rush out of state for family emergencies. When I got back and someone asked, I made the same mistake as everyone else and gave the estimate, forgetting that I had gone with the other number.
Later, when the first cast was pulled, I simply plopped it down next to the sculpt and verified that they were the same. And since by now 11.5 was the number in my head and both the clay and the cast were identical, I just assumed that the cast was 11.5. Also when you put a ruler next to it, it looks like 11.5. Your eyes just can't see that small of a difference.
So, sorry. My bad. However I am still confident that 11.3 is the correct height. I just got sidetracked and forgot to mention it. Just didn't want anyone to think I was lying when they got their cast and it was 2 milimeters short.

OZ, if you have gone for 11 inches 3mm for your Falcon that is spot on!!

That the Falcon is 11 1/8" which is 11" 3.17mm to be exact, so your falcon is perfect!
Some membes might have read on wikipedia that it says the falcons were 11 1/2" tall which is 11" 12.7mm...
