Malakili ROTJ Gaffi Stick

Hi there,
Does anyone know what was used to make Malakili Gaffi Stick end ?
It looks like actual metal but I can't find anything looking like that.

Sorry for the lack of reference pictures, that's all I was able to find.

I remember seeing it at the Where Science Meets Imagination exhibit. I don't remember why (like if I saw wood grain), but I thought it was wood. I haven't seen a lot of reference on this one or the ones the Gamorrean guards that block Luke are using.
