WOW. I've seen so many copies of what the cartoon actually showed, I've never even heard of a realistic version of what it'd really look like. I'm impressed! Having flown in several military aircraft (both prop and jet powered) over the years, it looks like you could really fly with it.
That's amazing! It's really cool to see a costume from an anime, cartoon, or comic and have it made so realistic and functional. It's not the easiest thing to do, but you hit it out of the park!
That is gorgeous, I'd love to see what you can do with the DYRL flightsuit. I especially like the helmet, looks like it can match up with the Yamato version par for par and not look as bulbous on someone's head.
I got a buddy that is an illustrator for Macross and Gundam work. He's also a costumer (Star Wars), so I'm gonna send him a link to your pic. Very cool!
Thanks everyone for the awesome comments! Sorry I've not responded sooner, but I was crazy with con season (as I'm sure most of you can understand) :wacko
I talked about this costume for 2 years before I actually decided to go for it. I'm really happy with the way it turned out. As far as everyone liking the "realism" of it - thanks! I didn't want to do a cartoony version - I wanted it to look as gritty and real and war-worn as possible.
