M42 Scope refurb project

I've got a M42 scope that at some point in it's life has had a pretty dodgey brussed paint job. I've stripped it back and plan to refinish it. What's the closest finish I can get?
Mine's the only one I've handled so have no idea what to aim for, matt, semi-gloss ect.

Any help much appreicated, picture's would be good too:thumbsup

Cheers

From photos I've seen, most of them look to be semi gloss... But then again, you're talking about a WWII military scope which logically would be painted in a tough, matte finish; perhaps even a pebble finish like the Sterling SMG's had...

my one has the finely rippled 'pebble' finish
But if it's stripped right back already, and if you're using it for a E-11, why not get it powder coated?

I have real M32 scope on my Luke Esb blaster. I also used to own a M42 which I sold. Both sports a satin black finish. If I where to replicate it I would probably spray on satin black and then polish it up a bit.

Cheers,
Steve
