Hey all,

A whiles back, a friend of mine accidentally bought himself a PR without doing some research and got this...As you can tell, off the bat, the skeletal butt needs to be changed, as do the barrel shroud and barrel. The Mag well is too fat and the overall shape needs to be sharper.

Anyhow, he gave me the project to try and get it reworked somehow...and well, it's finally finished except for paint...Enjoy...

Here are the reworking build up pics...As you can tell, the POC was filled with expanding foam to bulk it up. After the removal of the gun areas i didn't need, and a bit more dremeling to shape it, this is what i got...

The Base frame I kept:

More rebuild pics...

Bondo to reshape certain warped areas:

Test fitting of the new shrouds after trimming and mounting of the new barrel and skeletal buttstock upgrades.

You'll also notice that i had to cut away part of the trigger guard to allow the shrouds to sit properly onto the frame. It'll be fixed with bondo once the mounting is done.

While I'm still lookin for the hex screws...I went ahead with Rivet Heads to use on the shrouds. Doesn't look too bad I think...:)

Fabricated a new cocking handle out of acrylic tubing:

Bad news had to happen, I had to have the gun slip out of my hands and onto the floor...right on the buttstock, shattering it.

Good news, found enough pieces for me to partially glue it back on and used enough styrene to reinforced the area and applied more bondo.

Talk about Murphy's Law...

The repaired buttstock:

Finally, the second last bit of detailing, here it is, cut and scored as well as dremeled, the carrying handle iron sight rail.

I'm now working on making a detachable clip with 10mm caseless rds...will keep you posted as and when it happens...on and off. :)

Stay safe,

Tim.

Im liking the vacformed shroud- that little front recess under the carry handle is an absolute Be'yitch to vacform without webbing.
