Luna's Ultimate Spider-Man Build, Orhadar Print. [Pic Heavy]

true they are farther apart, but the eyes are bigger in ultimate so the eye separation doesn't look so strange
Thanks for sharing your opinion! Feel free to make your own suit differently. This suit's mine, so I made it the way I wanted it.
I happen to think the eyes on my suit don't look any more "strange" than this, but you're welcome to prefer something else:

The eyes look perfectly placed to me and I'll be doing the same. I actually think many people place them too close, particularly when not using a face shell which tends to stretch them a bit wider.

No no, Luna, you have perfect eye placement. That's exactly where they should be in my opinion as well, but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Your suit, your rules! Great suit man. I actually had someone send me a link to this and I told them I had already extensively looked at this thread and even chatted with you about your suit haha. Great job to you for the assembly and extra details and incredible job to the designers! They do the heavy lifting. If not for them, there wouldn't be such awesome Spidey's swinging around.

Also, that Yorkinabox pic is perfect. You should definitely use that one to showcase your suit. I noticed there was a bit of color grading on the pic in your first post. I like to see the true color of the suit like in the other pics. Love it, man.

Thank you both very much! Yea it's interesting, since I didn't take any pictures at the event myself, I never know what kind of processing the different shots have that I run into. I only went out into the sun for a little while outside since it was so hot that day, so I'm glad that some of these natural light pictures have surfaced. :)

That's one thing I'm a bit concerned about this weekend at Philly Comic Con. I won't always have a friend right with me taking pictures with me, and I can't really expect them to do that, so I know there will be pics of me floating around! I'm not sure how to get my hands on them. The other night plenty of pics were taken of me at the bar club, but I'll never see them haha. Do you just cross your fingers and hope you'll find them on flickr or instagram or deviant art? I'll attempt to facebook friend people that I meet and take pics with, I suppose.

At the con, I just got the info of some of the photographers on facebook and found them there, other times I'd get linked to them. Usually the days immediately after the con people will post galleries of all the shots they took to the main facebook page of the event. Then you can click through and tag yourself. If you friend other people at the con who are in costuming circles they can also find photos of you in other sites you might not know about.

Question for Lunaman- do you post on Reddit as 'Moonspider?' Only reason I ask is that I saw this same post up there. Sorry for thread interruption, please continue with USM awesomeness.

Yep, that's me. "Luna"-->"Moon" "Spider"-->"Man". :) I posted this tutorial on reddit and it went crazy, I was the top post on the front page and received a terrifying number of messages. The internet has a short attention span, thankfully, and it cooled down. Still get some weird PMs here and there.
Thanks for the affirmation of awesomeness.

Beautiful build!
I have a question, did the superglue stick to the foam when you glued on the lenses?
Thanks for the compliment! The glue mostly soaked into the fabric when I attached the eyes, it did make it through and adhere to the foam and tape a little bit in a couple spots, but I was able to separate them. Better than having to deal with it adhering to the faceshell.

Fantastic step by step tutorial. Super helpful and I love all the pictures. The part with the shoes was what got me curious because I have no idea on what to do there. You only super glued? No sewing? How are the soles holding up so far?

As for the shoes, I didn't use "only superglue," I used E6000, a heavy duty adhesive that's made for this type of application and has a flexible bond when cured. Much much stronger and more appropriate than superglue. This type of adhesive is probably holding together the soles of any athletic shoes you own right now. The soles are holding up very well.

Have my babies Lunaman...

This is a fantastic build. Definitely the best "comic book" Spider-Man! :D
Thanks very much!

Hahahahahaha. It's like you can see my inbox with a crystal ball.

By the way, guys, a cool thing happened to me this week. I was contacted by some folks at Boomify about the possibility of interviewing me for an article at FilmTrailers.net. We set up a time and spoke for a while, and yesterday they published the article about me! Pretty nifty. :)

Very cool! Congrats on the publicity and great job! If I was shorter I'd definitely try and replicate this for my own build. Spidey wouldn't work for someone who's 6'1 though. LOL

...now the Flash on the other hand...

i'm new to the site so I appreciate you guys going through and posting tutorials and step by steps...really impressive.
