Any advice on how to make Luna Lovegood's lion hat from Harry Potter?

What do you think it is made of under the fabric?

I personally would go the foam route and then use stretchable fleece to cover it...

I'm thinking fleece as well. This might be a fun hat to make & wear to cons.

In the video discussion, the maker said that she used fleece but that if she were to do it over, she would use something else. I think the original is made of some velveteen-type material, which has a firmer strength than fleece. Next best might be double-thick felt, I think.

use a giant lions head and get a helmet glue the lions head over the helmet the atleast you have get the bass done, get some brown cream orange yellow ribbin and glue them on but do loads to make it look like a mane then curl some and then your done, this is what i might do
