Done / Completed Luke TFA Lightsaber Control Box Triangles and Lid

nope nothing...
you just scared the hell out of me! i thought you meant there was a new pic of the saber hanging from his cloak lol i had to re read it 3 times, first confused with excitement, second to double check, 3rd to triple check, 4th bring on the tears finding out we still dont have another pic
Quick update, the 2ND (actually 3rd) set of rails came in today! They are much better, alot less clean up and the corners are square I'll pack a few more sets up tonight so they can go out to everyone starting tomorrow.
I have been searching for months for anything that will give us any more info and haven't found anything. So I think we did really well with the very limited info we had.
On a side note (and this isn't an endorsement of any kind) but I sent a couple of the parts to a very well respected member here and he said they are great. (Maybe he said perfect but I don't want to misquote). Without comparing notes we both came up with similar dimensions so I think we're on the right track.
I'm anxious to hear everyone's feedback.

Just got mine today! They look great! Haven't tested them with the saber yet because I'm at work but super happy to finally finish this thing. [emoji106][emoji106]

So I'm looking at the rails installed as is vs the TFA reference image and I'm definitely going to be milling my control box "rails" down. The actual rails on the box not the separate ones. I have the height of the "rails"/edges on the box at 3mm. I'll probably knock em down about 1.5mm. As is just sticking the new rails on top looks odd to me. Ends up too high. The rails look great so it's not an issue with them but in the image it looks like they sit about 1mm or less above the card.
I'll hopefully get a chance to do this tomorrow and I'll post pictures to show the difference.

I'm definitely interested to see how that turns out. Just curious, but how exactly do you plan on going about milling the piece?

Here is my little mock up vs the movie one just using double sided tape. I may also try to shave a bit off the back of the triangles so they sit a little lower.
Again opinions are much appreciated especially before I make a irreversible modification lol

What about trying to sand them down instead. May be safer and take a little longer but at least they won't break and because it's slower, you can test it as you go.

I'm so tempted to build mine however I just keep saying wait till the movie just incase the paint changes. My luck it would , and it would be right after I'm finished with it, out comes the teaser photos. Ugh

Yea the triangles would be sanded for sure. As far as the control box it would take to much time to sand for me plus them I have to make sure it sands evenly.
All paid orders have shipped. They took forever to pack. Tracking should have been sent via your paypal email. I wish we had more pictures.
Andrew, I'm glad you got them, you're the first one. There's two sets of rails, the one set has too much of a taper and they are too short. I threw them in because I really have no use for them.

So I did end up milling down my control box as I mentioned. I too 1.5mm off the top and at quite happy with it. In the picture it looks like the rails go down to half the depth of the card and that's where I have mine now. I didn't modify my triangles because in the end I was happy with them.
So this is my end result for this project. Having trouble with the dirt/brown at the top of the control box so I'll be trying different things with that but here is the current state.
