Quote:<HR></TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS=$row_color>But this is how it goes. Once the camera guys figure out the star wars guys want it, they jack the prices up because they KNOW some geek with a boatload of cash WILL pay for it. There's also the subculture within the camera community that focuses on preservation, and views Star Wars stuff as destroying history (because we drill holes and such). So they'll jack the prices up just on principle in some cases, or will refuse to sell to SW guys. Oh well</TD></TR><TR><TD><HR></TD></TR></TABLE><SPAN CLASS=$row_color>
Exactly. While eumigs will NEVER be as cheap as they WERE, the market will eventually settle down to "reasonable". Same goes for the other camera parts needed on the Macros.
In the meantime it will be push and shove to get stuff from auctions and camera stores.
Like the Graflexes, MPPS and Grenades - in time there will be repoductions and castings in metal, resing, or whatever to satisfy a part of the market. That goes a LONG way towards equalizing the market and in the end everyone wins...
I know for a fact that some of us were stumbling over each other over stuff and driving the prices up. Finally, one of us got the forsight to e-mail the other members and set a game plan in action. As such we have now got some of the parts we need AND kept the prices good and fair. There have been some hiccups along the way, but for the most part it's worked out...
Now I need to get that lens in some silicone..
