Lucasfilm to Strike Back March 7th - Lucasfilm vs Andrew Ainsworth

Well, it certainly doesn't make the movie better.

Without it it would have been even worse. Eye candy like that parade was at least something to look at.

I think we appreciate that artists take from other artists, but what galls here, as I said, is Lucas's hypocritical quickness to litigate when people take from him, after he's shown no scruples at all about pilfering from others himself.

Seriously. Lucas is not quick to go after people. If he did... we would be shut down faster than you can blink. I can understand him going after people who snub their nose at him.

Isn't Marijuana legal in Amsterdam? I know steroids can be prescribed in Mexico, but that does not apply to the United States. Once again, this guy shows his ignorance.

AA was asked to explain the discrepancies between a picture of his original Chest plate that he sells and a picture of an original.

The moulds for the armour wee made from a resin amd metal dust substrate with the details planted on. The details were often made from wood, plastic or odds and ends.
The vacuum forming process is quite severe on delicately constructed moulds, but as the moulds only had to last for about 50 pulls, it did not matter.

Therefor along the way, when detail was disturbed and moved with the hot moulding process, or destroyed and rebuilt, a variation in finished mouldings became a common place.- but it did not matter as the overall soul of the character was always maintained.

Now...consider this....
There were 50 Stormtroopers used for three films = 150 possible showings.
There were 35 different mouldings in a Stormtrooper costume x 150 = 5,250 possible showings.

Which one of these particular showing are refered to when looking for detail variations.

If you itemise one at a time, I would gladly offer you an opinion of how it maight have occured.

There is actually an almost infinite number of variations, as all the parts of the armour are interchangeable, and on the film set, actors came in after shooting and went out for the next shoot with a completely different mix of armour parts.

Indeed, in the court, the Stormtrooper that Lucas displayed was made up of parts from different periods and different films...It cetainly did not seem to bother Lucas.

Same old change the story and create a fantasy excuse that the ignorant will swallow... Same old regurgitated garbage proving yet once again he is lost in his own lies...

There are no 'detail' pieces on the chest! So his excuse falls flat on it's face... And if he is taking about the 'ab' he is delusional as his ab section is clearly a recast of GF's ab section...

im really sorry to keep quoting AAs comments on Face Book, but i just cannot get my head around what hes trying to say here.

Ive seen Stormtrooper Get Vac Formed and the mold that was used was a solid form, no wood are anything involved.............

can some confirm his comment is true

Original Stormtrooper
Many of the moulds had wood as a part of the construction or wooden details planted on the surface, or even made of wood completely.
Complete wooden moulds are the belt amo pack, the Knee amo pack, the belt drop boxes
All the moulds had part wood and part resin/metal dust, in their construction if they were not completely wood.
Details on the abb front were wood and ofen used to come off with the vacuum pressure and were re glued.
The top back moulding had a plastic cog from the kids toybox and a couple of pieces of wood for the two uprights
The shoulder starps were completely wood - they were just cut on the cross cut saw...why would you make them any other way...
The electronic plate on the front of the abb was wood with short pieces of welding rod glued on and a few metal washers.
The mouthpiece of the helmet were pieces of 3mm ply planted into the resin ( see DVD) and covered with a thin skin of resin/ metal dust.
I sprayed the final coat of resin/ metal dust to fill the pin holes and get the polished finish.

It`s a pity when you were researching this, you did not think to contact myself or Nick....mind you , nor has anyone else for that matter, ever asked about the construction of the moulds.
You see they are not really moulds, they are vacuum forming tools.
Moulds are female and used to make a product from fiberglass, just as the studios were trying to do,
Vacuum forming tools are male, and are generally fabricated up from wood or resin.

As I said previous... Welcome to Ainsworth Fantasy Land, where reality and truth is verboten...

Truth is AA fabricates and tells more lies to support the next and previous lie, in an ever evolving story as he gets called out on the lies...

Just a small point but the spelling he uses is UK English as apposed to US English so there are slight discrepancies between the two

Therefor - therefore - Awe

And mouldings is the UK spelling where as moldings is US

My apologies if im overstepping my boundaries :)

Hi Paul I see you have just joined the RPF and welcome :) and this is your first post.
Maybe you haven't seen previous posts from Ainsworth on his Facebook page.
Although it is the content of the posts on his Facebook page that are at issue here, spelling is not one of his strengths - or telling the truth :(

Hello Brian,
Thank you so much for the very nice welcome and no I am not party to the FB page you refer to but I shall take a look to see just what all the fuss is about ,
As for me correcting the point made about bad spelling , in a former life I was an English and History teacher and I am a complete pain in the proverbial butt when it comes to correcting mistakes in proper UK and US use of the right words between the 2 countries:lol sorry about that ,
Which is why I though it prudent to apologize in advance:angel
Hope I didn't give the wrong impression right from the off, but I promise you and all here it will be the last time I get all "classroom" from now on.

I shall read up on the subject of this thread in more detail. and thanks again for making me at home.
