Lucasfilm to Strike Back March 7th - Lucasfilm vs Andrew Ainsworth

And yet many, many other people some of which it is an obssession for could point out to you for hours exactly why he is clearly not using the original molds. The diferences, the approaches he made to other armour makers regarding obtaining molds etc etc , the list goes on.

But judging by your own story I'm guesing you would still not care as long as AA is "sticking to the Man".

An blind obsession, like a blind rage, for too many I fear

Oh come on. Picked to death by sceptics. You know, deep down, that he does have them.
Again, the proof is in the pudding. His pudding is lacking.

To Mic, yes it was a few members who got Ainsworth to thinking he could make money off of this...and I know one kicks himself for it.

Mic; couldn't agree more .

Qui: I know not of the puddings you talk about

This is why, Howard. He was in a business long before being approached about going into the helmet business again. He did this out of greed, not to feed his family or any other touchy feely BS people would like to spin.

Qui - I'm not arguing, I have no dog in this race, no interest in AA at all.
I'm also not trying to spin any touchy feely BS, just trying to look at the whole affair from a broader perspective.
What does put me on the opposite side of the fence is when LFL's legal department decides to claim $20m in damages.
I'm interested in how they justify plucking such a sum out of the air and claiming it's valid. I don't think I'm alone is this interest also.

Now, if they'd had said they just wanted AA to show his balance sheet and hand over his gross profits, then I think that's fine, and reasonable.
But coming down in such a heavy handed way has only served to paint LFL in a bad light, not only in the eyes of some fans, but also in the eyes of the general public, recent films notwithstanding.

I'm gonna leave it at that - I have no interest in batting this backwards and forwards to be honest, and certainly don't want to have to answer posts from the entire U.S. membership of the RPF over this matter, out for blood. :confused

In plain English, he is lying about the molds. He could not even produce them if you had asked him to. His helmets look very dissimilar than what is on screen.

Oh come on Howard, or as I like to call you, 'god of the eumig servomatic' , wheres the fun in bowing out?

I will be very disappointed if LFL take this any further.

So the guy sells $100,000 worth of suits.

Big freakin' deal.

Enough already.

I'm interested in how they justify plucking such a sum out of the air and claiming it's valid.

They didn't pluck it out of thin air, the amount is it's based on the written US IP laws and damages for violations of such... If you are truly interested in how the amount was derived it's clearly detailed in the US case ruling, as well as US Code...

Now you can argue you don't agree with the law, but that is an entirely different matter...

I don't.

I enjoy it for what it is, one helluva conversation piece in my collection.

In case LFL wants to know here is one U.S. sale that can be verified I was # 44 of the first 50. :lol

if you have bought from AA you have to believe he has the original molds otherwise you gunna feel robbed

nah. Just quite like his lids.

You could argue that if you didn't buy an AA lid then you needed to join the loudest clan to justify in your own mind why you didn't .

As an obvious Fan and FB buddy of AA, i assume you have a vested interest in the outcome of today's hearing, perhaps also the need to defend both the man (your friend) and his product.

The common view here after years of research is AA has told numerous lies and been caught out with those lie's, there are page's and page's of countless argument's and debate's here that i suggest you should read.

Some of us in the beginning were suckered in (me included) by his knack of convincing you he was the real deal, sadly he's not, he's just a chancer who saw an opportunity to make money.

His claim for possessing the actual molds and making Trooper suits for the general public out of them is the biggest hoax since the Turin shroud, and if you believe you have in your possession a piece of Prop material made from original Molds................ Then i'm the king of England.

No sorry ST, my Lord, King of England. Don't know the guy. Heard of him.... Read even more about him from your clan !!!!!

Don't know about the suits. Not really thought about those as this is not what we are debating. But come on, you know in your heart of hearts, I'm right. Nice lid, not too much money prop forum replica cast speaking, so ?

Not the Julien from stourbridge on his profile then? :angel

Sorry but you are coming over as a shill here. Your posting no facts or informed opinions , merely stirring the pot. :thumbsdown

Now that is funny.

Julian, why do you assume he has the studio molds when not one shred of evidence shows any of his helmets looking like the screen used? Again, the truth is here and out on the web. Hell, there were comparison pics that compared Ainsworth's offerings to what LFL had as screen used.

Anyone that knows anything could clearly see his suit was a reworked ROTJ derivative with recast GF parts, to believe for one second his suit is anything more is laughable and clearly shows the persons lack of even the most basic knowledge or ability to even compare to ANH screen shots... His helmet is a monstrosity of flubber, that has more wrong with it than right...

But, hey if you want to believe the ever changing weekly AA fabricated story and lie, enjoy! The world needs mindless followers...

It is hard to believe that with all that has been written and shown on the subject that anyone would still believe his claims.
