LOTR Witch King of Angmar

About a year ago I started with an STL off of thingiverse. it was a 1/4 helm for the witch king. I scaled it up and sliced it to print and made it with the intent of it sitting on my shelf. Then it jumped the shark. Now the entire thing is nearly complete. a few armor pieces, some weathering and 1 comically oversized ball and chain and its done. The whole thing is 8ft 10in tall.

Not yet. still finishing his armor and sword. bit of leather work. then I'll be making a huge mess with expanding foam that will eventually be the idiotically large ball and chain

Got one of the gauntlets completed. Mix of 3d printed parts and foam. 59 separate parts each.

This costume just keeps getting hotter to wear. A cooling vest will be a necessity me thinks.

Thanks. I just realized I doubled up some of the pics. oops. I still have a long way to go before August but I'm happy with how it looks so far. Hopefully I have enough time to do the big stupid flail

Love the paint on the "metal" pieces. Looks real. Nice work!

Both shoulder pads done, morgul blade, belt, and scabbard. The scabbard is just foam strip wrapped tightly and glued to a leather frog. The Morgul blade is a simple 3d print. Still need to do the sword blade. This thing scared my wife to death when she walked in the shop

Met the Man Himself, Lawrence Makoare at Cincinnati Comic Expo. He signed the helmet, as did Bernard Hill (King Theoden) Gotta make a new one. This ones retired.
