LOST HUNTER FOUND!

I can't believe this things are out and about just sitting there in non-fan hands with people just collecting it to sell off then become millionaires off of them. I feel sad for the creators who would like to know that there work is being used like this I would be upset. I would sell it to hardcore fans only that way it will go up in value, it would be more apprecaited, and it will last longer through the ages.

Excellent story, Fishzilla!

That's cool that there still P2 pieces out there in the hands of collectors. I can understand where that gentleman is coming from, and I can respect his wishes about not posting pictures or joining any prop communities.... but as a Hippie whore, it's disheartening to know that my favorite Predator is hanging on a coat hanger amidst a plethora of other prop-costumes. It should be under glass on display at the Science Fiction museum alongside the P2 Hero puppet-head for all the fans to see. Not clustered away in some underground vault slash batcave. But, atleast its out of the sun so the rotting process is somewhat hindered.

Well all you said does make sense. I can see how that works.

But yeah, try and get us some pics. If not, maybe he'd let you take measurements off the various parts so one of the great sculptors around here can try and sculpt up some accurate sized P2 suit pieces for all the Pred costumers around here.

I agree with Andy wholeheartedly. If you can get some pics, cool. If not, oh well.. another P2 piece vanishes into obscurity. I think we as fans/artists/enthusiats/what-have-you should focus on recreating these pieces for ourselves and other costumers/collectors out there. I'm working on sculpting a P2 head right now, and once that is finished I would like to tackle a full suit and head piece. :p

Just a quick fanboy question, Fishzilla. When you said that there seemed to be a leather belt glued over the sculpted belt, what kind of texture was it? Alligator? Snake? Also, did he have the tunic as well? If so, what material was it... just black leather?

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Hey Fishzilla, good to see you on here, its frosty.
Fish has a great collection of hellraiser stuff, and i wouldn't have been able to do a couple of projects without him sharing pics.I am a meager small fry minoe in the collecting world, and know guys who have plenty of mouthwatering props we won't ever see, the reasons they do it vary, some people have a scrooge like its mine mentality, why should i share, but there are others who do share which is great.
At least its out there somewhere and not in landfill like we heard.

I know a dude that as a lot of high end props and screen used stuff as well........its for his own private enjoyment. They dont make it known to the mesage boards and people like us for reasons. They never want to paint that bullseye on there back, and not become a victim of robbery (the less people know the better is what I was told) theres a handful of people out there like this dude...............its a cool story

Yep, I am just happy to know that it did survive and that leads me to believe that the others are out there too somewhere.

Couple things about the suit that I noticed

I'm not sure what the texture was on the leather belt, I know that it did look old though, you could tell this thing was made a long time ago.

The colors on the suit looked great, the spots were good and crisp. There were spots where the latex had shipped though, showing the yellow/orange latex under the paint. They were here and there throughout the whole suit, this is expected and common for a suit like this.

There was no tunic, the only "external" things on this suit were the net covering the body and the net gun on the lower leg. The net gun was made of foam latex, not resin so it wasn't as crisp looking as Larry's resin one, and it was velcroed on the leg. No forearm bands either, but there was velcro on the ends of the arms to hold the gloves or the forearm bands.

There was also no disc on the leg, just the vecro that the disc would've been attached to. There were velcro pieces on the neck area for the neck collar to attach to

Zipper right up the middle of the back. The pattern on his back was very similar to the front except it was more black than skin color, where in the front it's more skin than black.

Good to hear from you Frosty!

I don't think Hippie had the smartdisc in the leg holster in the movie either. Not all the Lost Hunters did.

The thing I'm actually most interested in seeing a picture of is the back of the suit. Hippie is one of the Lost Hunters where no pictures of his backside have surfaced, and I'm always very interested in their paintjobs they did on the skins.

I'm glad that you guys are as excited as I was when I saw it. I was a little hesitant in posting this because unfortunately..........one strict rule from this guy was to not post pics of any kind. I hate to tell you guys this and not post a pic, but this guy was very strict on this rule and I did make him that promise.

I can answer any questions you have about it, but I can't post any pics. This person did not work on the film but he said he got it from someone that did. This guy that I met has an ENORMOUS collection of screen used stuff so he obviously has connections from many effects houses. Most of his stuff was "older", ten years or so so he doesn't have any newer stuff.

One thing that sticks out to me when I saw it was that you could tell that whoever made this particular suit took a piece of leather and cut it in the same size as the belt, and simply glued it on top of the sclupted belt to make it look like it was a different texture than the sclupted one. I know that they "kitbashed" these suits for the most part so that was really neat .
I did that very same thing to my costume!!! thats cool!! I found an old guards holster belt at the good will store!! cost 2 bucks! already weather to perfection and nice and thick real leather! I go the for all my old used leather looking goods!
