So, I'm working on an Iron Man project (like half the other people on here), and I've encountered a bit of a dilemma.
Going through my reference images of the practical suit and the CG suit, I've noticed several VERY minor discrepancies between the two (the missile on the CG gauntlet is different than the physical suit version, for example).
The practical suit missiles:
The CG suit missile:
The biggest issue I've come across, however, is the issue of the gauntlet shell itself.
The physical suit has a 5-section gauntlet: The primary shell, the plate on the bottom, the two missile launcher halves, and the missile launcher top.
HOWEVER, the CG suit shows several instances of there being several additional panels; namely, one that consists of the top two inches, one on either side of the gauntlet, and one on the bottom. This is seen in the scene where Tony is watching news coverage of the Gulmira incident, wearing the partial gauntlet.
Then, in the final battle, you see his gauntlet split in half to cover his face (same gauntlet) from incoming gunfire. In THIS scene, the gauntlet clearly splits straight down the top and swings out to both sides.
(Still looking for a picture of this one, if someone knows what scene I'm talking about and has a screencap, I'd appreciate it)
I want to make the gauntlet not just as a costume piece, but also as a separate display piece that I plan to make available to members of the RPF at some point. So my question is;
WHAT VERSION OF THE GAUNTLET DO I BUILD?
A accurate replica of the physical gauntlet?
An idealized replica of the physical gauntlet (correct missile, properly opening missile doors)
Or an accurate replica of the CG gauntlet, complete with opening into shield mode and hidden seams/panels?
Keep in mind, this is also probably going to be offered as a display item with the metal frame and wiring underneath it.
