Looking for Marvel Comics costumers or people who know them :)

Hey all!

Thanks to everyone who replied to my call out for pics of Marvel costumers!

I've used a handful of fellow costumers for my "Marvel Masterpieces II" sketch cards. Each card has my actual hand-drawn sketch and autograph on them and will be randomly inserted into The Upper Deck Company's upcoming "Marvel Masterpieces II" (2008) trading card packs.

Because of my tight schedule, I wasn't able to use everyone's pic for "Marvel Masterpieces II" and anyone at all for my "Iron Man" cards. But, there are still over half-a-dozen MMII sketch cards with poses and costumes inspired by you guys.

I'll hopefully have more opportunities to illustrate people I know. So please, feel free to stay in touch! Just drop me a line now then to say "hi!" or whenever you have a new costume, from any license (or even an original design), to show off.

In case anyone is curious, I'm currently working on a "Star War: The Clone Wars" and a pin-up project. You can track what I'm up to here: http://www.worldfamouscomics.com/about/

Also, you can can view my sketch cards currently for sale by various dealers, collectors or fans here: http://www.sketchcards.com/artists/justinchung.shtml

Highest Regards to all!

Justin =)

I guess that using real people in costumes as references is the way to go nowadays. Not that it's anything new. From the old Disney animated movies like Cinderella, to the "Tarzan" cartoon of the 80's, He-Man, etc. to the Bashkie "Lord of the Rings" film, they all used people in motion and drew over them frame by frame.

Alex Ross used people to model poses.

Especially with Greg Land and his marvelous work with the Fantastic Four and Ultimate Power. However, you start seeing the same poses, the same expression and the same faces over and over. Still, very nice art! :thumbsup

Who was the artist who drew "The Punisher" from real people in real poses. He also did a SUPERB Blade that was original and didn't steal from the Movies.

I can't remember the comic book artist, but he was amazing. That is how I picture my super heroes now, very realistic..... there is a real beauty to it, if beauty is the right word.

Can never have too many shots of the Punisher. You think Frank would smile once in a while :lol
Nice costume,BTW. How did you get the skull on, paint/stencil?

on the vest I made a stencil and spray painted it on then did the weathering by hand. The last shot with the T-shirt I had that done at a local t-shirt shop.
