Looking for display suggestions - The Walking Dead

Need some suggestions on a way to display some props. I’ve been sourcing some of the props and replicas related to The Walking Dead. I have items like a Rick Grimes costume (uniform shirt, hat, badge, gun belt, etc), replica Colt Python, Daryl Dixon’s crossbow, rifle bag, gas can, the Gerber Apocalypse (knife) Kit, the Governor’s Ka-Bar, etc. I would also like to eventually add some actual firearms to the collection… Shane Walsh’s Glock 17, Shane’s Mossberg shotgun, etc. The actual firearms I’d like to be able to secure as I have two children in the house.

I have a mannequin that I can put the Rick costume on. But the other items I’m struggling with how best to display them. I’m walking a fine line… really don’t want this display to end up looking like gun collection or a room where I’m prepping for the end of days. Any suggestions on how best to show the collection off? For what it is worth, I have a gun safe and some zombie related art prints I can utilize for the display as well.

Any thoughts?

Not a very original thought, but you could display your pieces like a museum, with a little card next to each piece saying what it is and which character owned/used/wore it. That way it'd probably look less like you're preparing for the end of days?

I guess it depends on how much space you've got available as well though!

How about a wall display? You can get recycled wood planks that look old and beat up and make like a barn wall to display everything on. Add some stains to the wood, a little blood splatter here and there too. I think that would look sweet.

I'm digging the ideas guys. Interesting thought on the blood splattered barn boards!

FWIW, I have an entire office I can use for the dipslay... about 10ft by 14ft.

I love the wood idea, or maybe like metal shack walls, do something with barbed wire maybe? That'd look really cool. I know you don't want the end of the world nut look but that's kind of hard not to accomplish when doing stuff with Zombie displays.

Well, for me, I would not only include cards saying what the replicas are (as suggested for the museum display idea above), but I'd also include at least one screencap of the item if you can get a clear shot of them.

how about using airsoft guns for the display they look like the real deal but not anyway as dangerous as the real deal.
