Looking for advice - making a torso with arms and articulated hands...best practices

So I am being a bit ambitious with my Heath Ledger Joker and fitting my silicone head onto a torso with arms. Well, that is the plan but as I experiment with plumbers piping and foam, I would like to know what other people use to create a torso with arms and hands - movable fingers are important and there does not appear to be any "off-the-shelf" solutions, as expected. I am looking to create a nice but not too expensive solution.

What would be expected from someone who could be paying $2000-$4000 for a completed bust with torso and arms, etc?

Thanks for any help!

There is a place in Europe that has foam hands for mannequins. Had to do some modifications to the attachment points but other than that worked out fine. I used a fiberglass mannequin and used upgraded bendable arms.

Don't suppose you recall where the hands were do you? It's a minefield out there...
