Long faux fur NFT stretch fur alternative ideas

I've been trying with the idea of making a large yeti or Wampa like costume for some time now and although NFT fur would be fantastic it's out of my price range.

I've thought of possibly making a spandex skin for the costume and gluing fur into it with spray adhesive, carefully trimming the backing off of the fur.

Does anyone else have any ideas?
