Yes.
I hand threaded a short section of the barrel on my ANH DL-44 but I knew this much would be past my skill level to do well. I can't take all the credit because I have a buddy that works as gunsmith. I met up with him and he helped me thread the length barrel and the inside of the flash hider. I have a mini machine lathe so I made the barrel tip. The flash hider threads down the length of the barrel and then the tip meets it from the other end. The parts are not going any where!
Next I will be making a steel spacer for the scope mount. I like Scotts idea about mounting the scope mount with three small screws that will be hid under the knurled knob. I am going to make a steel spacer that I can weld to the frame of the gun. When the spacer is welded in place I can screw the scope mount to the frame via the spacer. I have seen silver solder work well but it tends to ruin the bluing because you have to heat up so much of the area to make it hold well. One of the things I noticed about the original prop is that it appears to be well used with vintage patina to the whole gun. It looks like it saw real service. I found this C-96 that has that vibe. It is nice and worn with very old bluing. I found some nice grips a while back too that are original and dark. I think the C-96 has a nice vibe similar to the original prop and I don't want ruing that.
