Lining the rim of ST/CT helmets

I know it might not be screen accurate for all helmets, but I would like to add some black liner around the bottom rim of all of my trooper helmets and stop scraping my nose and ears on the resin whenever I put on/take off.

I was thinking about some black weather-stripping, but had a nagging feeling there was something better out there. Is there an agreed upon “best” material for this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Nothing agreed upon. There are several rubber/neoprene edge guards out there. Be careful you measure the thickness of the edge that you want it to cover, and that it has enough gripping strength so it won't come off on it's own. Be careful using glues that may yellow the paiht. In addition ensure that the edge guard isn't so thick so it reduces the internal diameter that would make it worse to put on and take off the helmet. I bought some stuff off Ebay. Lots to choose from.
