The last time I tried to put lights in a model was the old grain-of-wheat TMP Enterpise. It came out pretty darn good if I do say so myself, but you can tell my skills are way out of date and were even limited back then.
So my question is, how hard are these kits I see, and are they worth it? I don't know an amp from a watt so remember who you're describing this stuff to.
The main one that looks really fine are VoodooFX stuff. I do want to light up my Falcon and X-Wing and feel those might be the best to start with. But the soldering (which I've only done a little of) makes me nervous...I don't want to cook the circuit boards or LED contacts. If I can work with those kits, then I can work my way up culminating in the 1/350 Refit and NX-01. And I am talking full kits, like all the lights for the NX-01 or X-Wing, not something I have to piece together as again I really don't understand the power requirements and such (and my horror of getting it all glued together then to have it blow because I was wrong about something.).
So...any words of wisdom? Can a somewhat novice work with those kits?
