Lifesize figure standing on it's own?...

I'm looking for alternatives to the typical "metal rod in the calf" lifesize display that is generally used with fiberglass mannequins.

I guess one option is to drill through both shoes into the feet then attach the character to a base of some kind.

I've had success with this on my Gentle Giant 1:1 Yoda. For him I used a piece of 1/2" thick granite about 18" in diameter that replaced the wooden board he came on.

I've always wanted my lifesize figures to look like they are standing independently. Just not sure how to achieve this!...:lol

thanks in advance!

The metal rod in the calf doesn't do this?

I suppose another option would be to have the rod attach to the back, running up behind one of the legs? That way it could be hidden under a pair of pants and then the shirt...depending on what clothes your figure wears.

My bendy will stand on its own with TK armor. I have him ever so slightly tilted back toward the wall just in case. ;)
