Leia Costume help...

Hi everyone, my wife is putting together "A New Hope" Leia senatorial gown.

I'm in charge of making the belt. I know Obi-Wan's Jedi Academy had templates for the silver belt plates and tips on the construction of the belt. Unfortunately I can't access the site (is it off line?). I was wondering if anyone here had the templates or measurements?

I'm sure we'll have more questions as we get down to sewing the gown, so thanks in advance.

Thanks Park Vader. This will be a big help. How thick are the plates themselves? I have aluminum that is 2 mm thick. I think that will work... but I'm not sure.

Hey everyone, quick update.

My wife had plans to go as Leia this Halloween. Due to timing she's decided to wait till next year. Anyway, she came home the other day with these...

The straps and buckles will be a quick fix. The straps are sewn at one end and then lightly glued in the center of the boot. Taking that stuff off will be easy. The length of the boot is pretty good too. They stop at about an inch from her knee.

IMHO I think they're as close as we're going to get.

My wife went with which tall majorette boots. They are plain and look like go go boots, but have the normal heel instead of the high ones.
