Legendary Armor Halo MA5C Assault Rifle Progress...

We just recently got into the Halo realm and thought it would be fun to make some Master Chief stuff. We started with the Mark VI helmet and jumped onto the Assault Rifle as well. We decided to make it a little fatter since in the game it's only about 1.625" wide.

We blueprinted the assault rifle from high res pics taken in the game.

We magnesium etched some of the details so we wouldn't have to machine them.

We laser cut some other details out of acrylic.

We cut the basic shapes of all the main rifle components from Renshape.

Since we are doing this on our spare time, it's taking days to get this far...

I said the same thing about you when I saw this thread! :lol

I think my thought was more along the lines of "Oh ****, there's more!"

I'm really working hard not to write a class paper right now, so you're giving me a couple of good reasons to procrastinate. :)

And I've said this before but I'll say it again, there are some very very skilled people among the replica prop forums members, and this project proves it once again.

Congratulations to all involved.

(Generic statement of approval here. :lol)

Kidding aside you know how proud I am of what you and Lewis are doing on this project and there’s little more I can say that hasn’t already been said about the prodigious work being done.

HOLY ****! :eek

May I ask what tools you´re using to machine the renshape?
Is this block material expensive, is it easy to work with?

Stunning!

Markus

Solid. So how tight of a group is it making at 600 yards? :lol:lol I love the plate details.

Not sure if it falls into the realm of artistic liberty, but how do you feel about making simulated fasteners into the master -- pins, screws, etc.? ...or a futuristic concept weapon might not have those, who knows.
